John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

In every grown up in the world,
A child lies underneath,
And so this poem to my friend,
I do bequeath.

I see the simple love,
Expressed to me each day,
Sometimes within the simple things she’ll say,
She’s like a flower coming to full bloom.

My eyes begin to sparkle,
When she comes into the room,
I her I see a ruby red and always warm,
Encrusted by pure diamonds.

Which gives her all her charm,
I’d like to wrap her up,
And keep her from all harm,
Yet every now and then the grown up just appears
