John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Majestic trees and flowers bloom,
I see them from my little room,
As I lay here all wracked in pain,
And watch the softness of the rain.

For when the days of youth I had,
Sitting in the sunshine I was very glad,
I made a daisy chain or two,
And sat beneath the sky of blue.

The world looked prettier somehow then times passed on by,
And here’s the pain wracking at me once again,
Yet God gives me another day,
So by the window I may stay.

To watch his glory all at work,
A wonder to be seen,
What amazes me so,
Are the different shades of green.

A bird lands on the window sill,
It brings joy to my heart,
And as he sings his pretty song,
I could listen all day long.

I know that I am living when the pains are coming on,
I also know one day I will be gone,
And when I meet my maker in heaven very soon,
I’ll remember all the glory of that sunny afternoon.

And yet before nine p.m.,
This bed will be shaking,
In praises to my king,
Who gives me strength to sing.
