John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

It’s market day in Romford all sorts can be bought,
You have to look around to see what you can sort,
There’s lot of fruit and veg clothes there are many,
Here’s a little boy looking for his mammy.

Years ago there were no stalls it was a cattle market,
Shame if you had a car no where to park,
But that’s all passed on things have changed,
When you’re here folk shout out you think they’re ranged.

Have this lot for a pound ma the best you can buy,
Each one against the other, oh boy how they try,
There’s everything you need under the sky,
From a nail to a ladder and a joint of meat or two.

Sometimes shopping gets you down,
So decide to roam around the town,
Yet before you know it you’re back in the market,
And hope your car’s there where you had to park it.

A lot’s gone on since twelve forty seven,
All manner of cattle and such, squealing pigs,
Or maybe a bull or perhaps a few veg or two being sold,
The market square has a tale to unfold.
