The seagulls wing their way,
Across the rain filled sky,
The wind is blowing hard,
Oh tell me why, tell me why.
Birds can tell you all sorts of things,
The sun, the rain upon their wings,
They know the change in season,
And emigrate at times.
They’re watching all the heavens,
And just for certain things,
The Lord has given us animals to help in his great plan,
Most of them have become a great friend to man.
A dog can tell you when there’s fire,
He’ll bark and yap which you admire,
He’s saved your life, you hold him tight,
He knows you love him it makes him bright.
But seagulls are majestic,
When they are all in flight,
They soar away up in the sky,
Into the deep, deep night.
And when you hear the cuckoo,
You know that spring’s begun,
Lambs are born, new life begins,
New little sparrows are on the wing.
Lord thank you for these animals,
And the things that they can do,
We need them in our life oh Lord,
For us they are true.
