John 3: 16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Why is it when you’re getting old,
Different things that you are told,
You’re not walking so good my dear,
Your bones might creak but never fear.
You go to the doctor to get some pills,
He stares and says you’re looking ill,
Go home and rest for a day or two,
And be careful you don’t catch the flu.
You have false eyes and teeth as well,
You are glad that people cannot tell,
Running is a thing long gone,
Your days are numbered every one.
The years they go so quickly by,
And wonder why you even try,
To do the things that seem too much,
Which needs a younger person’s touch.
No climbing ladders in case you fall,
And guess what that’s not all,
You musn’t do that Ma it’s too much for you,
Yet what’s an old girl supposed to do.
But we’ll not quit till the day we die,
For every day we really try,
To do the things even if it’s slow,
At least we’re willing don’t you know.
Different things that you are told,
You’re not walking so good my dear,
Your bones might creak but never fear.
You go to the doctor to get some pills,
He stares and says you’re looking ill,
Go home and rest for a day or two,
And be careful you don’t catch the flu.
