John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

A human body is so strange some alright,
Some disarranged arthritic legs and painful feet,
A job to walk far down the street,
And then your eyes are failing fast,

Not sharp like they were in the past,
Ears that do not hear so well,
What’s that you said I cannot tell,
Some folk have had out all their teeth out,
And false ones now are there,
Cause if you didn’t have them you’d eat no country fair.

And what about your poor old hands,
Screwed up and bent over,
You cannot grip from the cup you sip,
Nor tackle your dog Rover,
We think we’re badly done by and right down in the drink,
Yet there’s no need to worry we’re not about to sink,
Through all of this we wear a smile,
To show people all the while, That we are never in the gloom,
For there could be a worse doom.

We could be dead and up in heaven,
Our pains they have gone,
And angels all around us do sing happy songs,
We’d not be deaf and glasses gone, Legs would be alright,
There’d be nothing for us to moan at, In the middle of the night,
Make of this life now what you can,
Till God has got,
His own dear plan.
