As I drive the car of salvation, Along God’s busy road,
I know that he’s there beside me,
Helping me carry my load.
I’m burning the rubber dear Jesus,
Along lives journey you see,
I’m singing your praises now daily,
In my car you give glory to me.
I’ve whizzed along the highway,
I’ve listened to my Lord,
And reached my destination,
And obeyed his word.
Then as we travel further,
Into that spiritual realm,
We find our heavenly father,
Is always at the helm.
The highway’s very busy with people on the move,
They’re out to find their saviour and get right in the groove,
They’ve parked their cars, come to a stop,
They celebrate and never flop.
So lets keep burning rubber,
And kick up lots of dust,
To really serve our saviour,
It’s surely a must.
Observe the lights, at red you stop,
At amber you get ready,
When green comes on it’s time to go,
And let those spiritual rivers flow.
