Lord when people cry for help,
As people often do,
Then we as Christians,
Should really see it through,
How can you turn your back,
To folk who are in distress,
Nor say I don’t have time,
I’m really kind of pressed.
This happened just this morning,
A man came into church,
He needed food for living,
His stomach it did churn,
He said I don’t want money,
Nor clothes and all those things,
It’s only food that I require,
Then praise to him I’ll sing.
But when the one came in,
That he was to see,
He quietly said when church is finished,
Then he can see me,
That isn’t what he wanted,
He needed help right then,
He must have felt rejected,
And lowest of all men.
He said I’ll come back later,
To see if they can help,
I didn’t really ask for much,
But just a little tender touch,
He wont be back we’ve lost a soul,
He could have stopped and been made whole,
But because they had no time for him,
He’ll still be living in his sin.
