John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

As darkness spreads across the sky,
And folk are going to bed,
Find me a little corner Lord,
Where I may lay my head.

My roof is you great sky above,
And the front room are the fields,
My kitchen’s by the rivers,
Where flowers they do yield.

But sometimes Lord my house gets cold,
There’re breezes all around,
The rain comes in the roof,
All wet now is the ground.

And yet for all that happens,
You pour your love on me,
For as I wonder here and there,
A stranger gives me a cup of tea.

I see the shelter my dear God,
It’s just inside the trees,
A peaceful night I hope to have,
And I go down on my knees.

You told us not to worry,
About the clothes or food we eat,
But just to take life day by day,
And know your love’s so sweet.

Pets I do not need to buy,
I have them all year round,
The birds down by the rivers,
And squirrels up the trees.
A fish jumps through the water,
And has a look at me,
I guess I’m kind of rich Lord,
There are no bills to pay.

My heat comes from the sunshine,
My water from the stream,
So I can just lay back a while,
And go into my dream.

I guess the world’s my oyster,                                                                                                               No matter where I roam,
And you will guide and protect me,
Until you call me home.
