To preach the word and sing his joyous song,
He tells us of disaster through a fire,
And how the people helped him with money and things to hire.
I guess he must be six feet tall,
He has a beard, moustache and all,
He’s singing many songs tonight,
I expect in his way he’s alright.
They said a gospel concert,
Was going to be held here,
I thought there would be great excitement,
But nothing’s happening with cheer.
I feel like I want to go to sleep,
But things he says I want to weep,
Because fire fell upon me too,
But god was there to see it through.
It’s good to be in the house of God,
But oh that we could sing,
Of all the praises to our Lord,
To let the rafters ring.
