John 3: 16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

While walking in the park one day,
A squirrel on the path did stray,
Big bushy tail and pretty eyes,
It really was a great surprise.

As I glanced there were some more,
Putting nuts into their store,
I went to sit down on a seat,
Lo and behold they were at my feet.

How can you resist them,
Looking at you pleading,
As you eat your sandwich,
You know that they want feeding.

You throw a piece towards them,
Their paws reach out and grab,
The food that they are given,
That’s come from your own hand.

Should I take a picture for my memory,
Or should I put it in my store house in my brain,
I think I’ll take the picture for every one to see,
He’s so small I’ve had to go on one knee.

I hope he’s keeping still,
And doesn’t even move,
I’ve gone and pressed the button,
And now I’m in the groove.

I’ll get the film developed,
And make sure it’s okay,
Then send it with this poem,
To put it on display.
